Funeral services for Julius Jackson "Ted" Lovell, 82, of Clarkesville were held Thursday, April 29, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with the Rev. Donald Grizzle and the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment followed in Rocky Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kyle Watts officiating at the graveside.

  Mr. Lovell went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

  Born April 20, 1939, in the Batesville Community, he was the son of the late Carl Sr. and Nancy Jane Benfield Lovell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Martin Lovell; one grandchild; brothers, Robert Lee Lovell and Carl Lovell Jr.; sisters, Lou Belle Lovell, Betty Barnes, and Janie Lovell; sons-in-law, Paul Beck and Ricky Church.

Ted was retired from Fieldale Farms Corporation with many years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member and Deacon of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Clarkesville. 

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Marie Nichols Lovell of Clarkesville; sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Lovell of Clarkesville, and Brian and Misty Lovell of Mt. Airy; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Juanita Welborn of Clarkesville, and Ron and Johnette Welborn of Baldwin; stepdaughters, Carol Beck and Nancy Church, both of Clarkesville; sister and brother-in-law, Effie Carolyn and Ralph Wilbanks of Mt. Airy; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
