Funeral services for Lamar D. Parker, 77, of Baldwin, were held Monday, July 11, at Bethesda Fellowship Church. The Rev. John DuBois, the Rev. Clarence Reynolds, and the Rev. John Graham officiated. Interment followed in the family cemetery at 584 Walden Street in Baldwin where Bishop Kevin Magness officiated.

Mr. Parker went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 8, 2022.

Born Jan. 8, 1945, in Clarkesville, he was a son of the late Dave and Cloia Darnell Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lamar Parker; granddaughter, Breanna Campbell; brothers, Dave Jr., Loyd, and Sammy Parker; and sister, Jean Parker.

Mr. Parker retired from the City of Cornelia after 20 years of service then went on to retire from Fieldale Farms, Inc. after 20 years. He enjoyed trips to the beach and was an avid football fan who especially enjoyed UGA Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. Mr. Parker actively attended Bethesda Fellowship Church where he served as a deacon for 35 years and was currently an honorary deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly Jarrells Parker of Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Charles Campbell of Alto; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Southern Comfort Hospice, especially Vickie Jumper, and to David Ansley for their care of Lamar during his recent illness.
