Funeral services for Lewis B. Trotter, 89, of Demorest, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with the Rev. Harris Bowman, the Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. Marvin Brown all officiating. Interment will follow in Victory Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Carl King officiating.
Mr. Trotter went to his heavenly home Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019.
Born May 17, 1930, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Chester Terrell and Blanche Vandergriff Trotter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nell Chamblee Trotter; and sister, Bobby Jean Weaver.
Mr. Trotter retired from Clarkesville Mills with 41 years of service. He was a member of Old Nacoochee Baptist Church and enjoyed farming.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Bill and Wanda Trotter, Terry and Lane Trotter and the Rev. Kenneth and Wanda Trotter, all of Demorest; daughter, Sandra Trotter Sims of Demorest; grandchildren, Deborah Chitwood, Lori Tench, Amanda Howard, Josh Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Sonya Thomas, Jason Trotter and Jennifer Jude; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Hannah, Brooke, Brianna, Blake, Katie, Victoria, Savannah, Kaitlin and Michaela; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Joe Trotter of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
