Funeral services for Linda Kay Dodd, 60, of Mount Airy, were held Saturday, July 2, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. The Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. Scott Slaton officiated. Interment followed in the Chopped Oak Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Dodd took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 30, 2022.
Born Dec. 5, 1961, in Cleveland, she was a daughter of Gracie Mae Nelms Cagle McAlum of Cleveland and the late Curtis Estes Nelms. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Dwayne Bryant; brother-in-law, Kenneth Gabrels; and stepfathers, Roscoe Cagle and Lonnie McAlum.
Linda married Keith Dodd Dec. 6, 1997 and together they made their home in Mount Airy for many years. She especially loved her critters. Linda was a member of Chopped Oak Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Keith Dodd of Mount Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Pete Harris of Murrayville, Willene Gabrels and Jorge Guillen of Mount Airy, and Debra and Michael Gabrels of Clarkesville; mother-in-law, Lynda Dodd and sister-in-law, Kelly Dewberry, both of Mount Airy; nephew, Ricky Gabrels of Clarkesville; niece and husband, Amy and Arnold Prince and great-niece, Hayley Prince, all of Dawsonville; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
