Funeral services for Lloyd Ezra Davis, 77, of Demorest, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Davis officiating at the graveside.

  Mr. Davis took his heavenly flight home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 following a brief illness.

  Born March 30, 1944 and was a life-long resident of Demorest. He was the son of the late Norman Davis Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Blair Davis. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brothers, Wade "Wadie Boy" Davis, Junior Davis, amd Julian Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille Davis Martin, Blanche and Leroy Burns, Vernia Mae and  William Oscar Burns, Brenda Davis Thurmond, and brother-in-law, Grady Gosnell.

Lloyd retired from Scovill Manufacturing with over 37 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed landscaping his yard and planting his yearly garden. Most of all, Lloyd was a devoted husband, a proud father of his three sons, and a wonderful Grandpa to his grandson, Neil. He attended Community Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Ruby Louise Gragg Davis of Demorest; sons and daughter-in-law, Marvin Lloyd and Linda Davis of Alto; Jerry Jarrard Davis of Mt. Airy; Jesse Wilborn Davis of Anderson, South Carolina; grandson and spouse, Ethan Neil and  Kristin Davis of Cornelia, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Rev. Ray & Janice Davis of Demorest, GA; sister, Geneva Davis Gosnell of Demorest; sister-in-law, Carolyn Davis of Mt. Airy; step grandchildren, Jason Head of Alto, Kay and James Davidson of Flowery Branch, and Randy Head of Gainesville; step great-grandchildren, Thor and Hannah Smith of Flowery Branch,  Zack Smith of North Carolina, Taylor and Mark Maynard of Virginia, Randy Head of Gainesville, and Amber and Patrick Wood of Dahlonega; great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Wood, McKenzie Wood, and Preston Wood, all of Dahlonega; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
