Funeral services for Louise Wade Thompson, 92, of Alto, were held Tuesday, May 11, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Tom Fish officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

  Mrs. Thompson went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 8, 2021.

  Born Jan. 29, 1929, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Randal and Ida Wade. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Vance Thompson Sr.; daughter, Janice Priscilla Thompson; grandson, Christopher Lee Scroggs; brother and sister-in-law, James and Annie Belle Wade; and brother, Bobby Wade.

  Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a "mama" to many.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law,  Jackie and Clint Scroggs of Alto, and Wanda and Rodney Gosnell of Clarkesville;  three sons and daughters-in-law,  Wayne and Wanda Thompson of Cornelia, William and Jan Thompson of Alto, and Jimmy and Cariedda Thompson of Alto; son, Jerry Thompson of Alto; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Emma Ruth Wade, and Charles and Polly Wade all of Demorest; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank a very special caregiver, Geneva Gosnell.
