Funeral Services for Luther Bryant "L.B." Thomas, 83, of Baldwin, were held Monday, Dec. 14, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Chad Parker and Mr. William Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, following an extended illness.
Born Jan. 27, 1937, in Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Marion William and Mrytie Greene Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Kerry Thomas and Calvin Thomas; and he was one of the last of his immediate family.
L.B. was a very hardworking man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was known to many as "Pop."
Survivors include his loving wife, Sarah Gene Brock Thomas of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Christine Thomas of Danielsville; daughter, Wanda Moon of Oglethorpe; son, Clyde Thomas of Winterville; son, Marvin Thomas of Oglethorpe; brother, Leonard Thomas of Athens; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Baldwin.
