Mae King Savage

Graveside services for Mae King Savage, 80, of Demorest, were held Friday, Oct. 11, at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, with the Rev. Josh Taylor officiating.

Mrs. Savage went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, at a local area hospital following an extended illness.

Born May 19, 1939, in Haddock, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Lillie King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Savage; and brother, Dr. Leonard King.

Mrs. Savage was retired from Scovill Fastners with many years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Smith of Demorest; son, Michael Savage of Demorest; sister, Shirley Long of Atlanta; brother, Bob King of Blairsville; grandson, Jared Smith of Demorest; and two great-grandsons, Connor Wilson and Easton Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Youth Mission Trip, 988 Old Historic Hwy. 441 North, Demorest, GA 30535.
