Funeral Services for Maybelle Goodson White, 99, of Alto, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Wynne Family Cemetery.
Mrs. White passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022.
Born Feb. 8, 1922, in Banks County, Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Edwin C. and Lela Roberts Goodson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Ralph White and brothers, Noyl Goodson, Robert Goodson, Coy Goodson, Leon Goodson, and Howard Goodson.
Mrs. White was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Lula. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising flowers. She also loved to play music and spend time with all of her family. She loved her grandchildren deeply and was known to them as "Mamaw."
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Max White and Jeanne White of Alto; brother, Ralph Goodson of Alto; sister, Lavonne Martin of Alto; grandsons and spouses, Dr. Douglas White and Mallory of Graniteville, South Carolina and David White and Jessica of Alto; great-grandchildren, Katie White and Daniel White, both of Alto; and a number nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5 and from 1 until 2:45 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel prior to the service.
