Memorial services for Myra Sue Carlan Bohannon, 76, of Demorest, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
Mrs. Bohannon passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Born Dec. 13, 1944, in Clarkesville, she was the daughter of the late John William Carlan and Lila Magnolia Nix Carlan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Abernathy, Manolia Bowden and Jo Ann Taylor.
Mrs. Bohannon was a seamstress and caretaker. She loved care giving and enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone that knew her loved her and she loved them. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband, Dewaine Bohannon of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Daphne Bohannon of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Jon Campbell of Demorest, and Kelly and Chip Duncan of Cornelia; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Carlan of Demorest; sister, Arlene Whiting of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
