Funeral services for Myrtle Mae Nation Smith, 86, of Demorest, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at Hillside Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Smith passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.
Born July 27, 1934, in Clarkesville, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Robert W. Nation and Flonie C. Nation Herrin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by husband, John J. Smith; son-in-law, Ronnie Purdy; grandson, Ronald Purdy; and sister Bertie Lee Roach.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Return Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Donald Smith of Demorest, and Calvin Smith of Demorest; daughters, Darlene Smith of Demorest, Dorla Smith Purdy of Demorest, and Charlene Smith Alley of Wauchula, Florida; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
