A funeral service for O. B. Terry, 98, of Tyrone, will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Tyrone First Baptist Church in Tyrone. Burial will follow the service at Sharon Memorial Gardens in Tyrone.
Mr. Terry passed away Dec. 1, 2022.
Born Oct. 14, 1924, in Cornelia, he was the son of the late James Madison and Ellen Terry.
O.B. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After active duty in World War II, O.B. joined the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, from which he retired. He also worked with and retired from the City of Atlanta. He was a member of Kennesaw Masonic Lodge No. 33 in Marietta, and Tyrone First Baptist Church in Tyrone.
O.B. is survived by his wife of 34 years, Helen McEachern Terry; his son, Madison Terry; his stepdaughter, Donna Chaffin; his step granddaughter, Tonya Chaffin; nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon prior to the service at the church.
