A private graveside service for Opal Omegine Jones Haynes, 85, of Cornelia, will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Pastor Phil Yarber officiating.
Mrs. Haynes passed away Friday, May 8, 2020.
Born March 17, 1935, in White County, she was the daughter of the late Jiles Benson "J.B." Jones and Ida Lovonia Satterfield Kimsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer R. Haynes; son, Rocky Helton; and brothers, Roger Jones and Merle Jones.
Mrs. Haynes retired from Coats & Clark with 25 years of service and worked with Belk in Cornelia. She later obtained her CNA certificate and worked at Habersham Home East. She enjoyed shopping, going to church and helping others.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Malissa Helton of Cleveland, Danny Helton of Clarkesville, and Sammy Holbrooks of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Roxanne Helton, Andy Holbrooks, T.J. Helton and Samantha Willard; three great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Hart of Midland, Texas; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
