Memorial services for Pat McElreath, 82, of Cornelia, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, at Camp Creek Baptist Church with Pastor James Lyons officiating.
Mrs. McElreath passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022.
Born Jan. 29, 1940, in Ocracoke Island, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ida Mae Ballance. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McElreath; brother, Bob Buntin; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Buntin.
Mrs. McElreath retired from La Quinta Inns and Suites where she worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her friends from the senior center and Cedar Grove Church group. She also enjoyed working with the food bank in Pelzer, South Carolina. Mrs. Elreath was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina before moving her membership to Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Ken Buntin (Patty) of Loganville and Tom Buntin of Athens, Alabama; grandchildren and spouses, Kyle Buntin (Ariana) and Billy Buntin (Katie); great-grandchildren, Gavin Warren, Leah, Ellie, and Christian Buntin; brother, Jessie Buntin of Cornelia; sister, Judy Cowart of Cornelia; best friend, Mary Greene of Pelzer, South Carolina; and senior center friends, Eleanor Irvin and Tony Rider.
