A funeral service for Pauline Wood Morrison, 99, of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, was held Thursday, Oct. 3, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Doster officiating. Interment followed in Oakey Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Morrison went home to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.
Born June 3, 1920, in the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late Oliver John and Nancy Ella Smith Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wooldridge L. Morrison; son, Benny Morrison; son-in-law, Albert Shook; sisters, Hazel Hooper, Eunice Allen, Gertrude Smith, Katrina Robertson and Estelle Adams.
Affectionately known as Nana to her family, Pauline was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, making flower arrangements, crafting and caring for others. She was also well known for her home cooking and biscuit making. Pauline was a member of Oakey Mountain Baptist Church and attended Providence Baptist Church for the last eight years.
Survivors include her daughter, Nell Morrison Shook of Clarkesville; daughter-in-law, Shelia Morrison of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Mitchell and Susan Shook of Vidalia; Jessica and Jon Davidson of Cumming; Isaac Morrison and fiancé, Cara Christopherson, both of Clarkesville; great-granddaughter, Kinley Shook of Clarkesville; sister, Lougene Wall of Clarkesville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
