Funeral services for Peggy Jean Crump, 82, of Baldwin, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Mr. David Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Crump passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Crump was born April 11, 1940 in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Charles Belton Davis and Opal McElrath Davis.
Peggy had been employed with Standard Telephone with over 10 years of service. She was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. Peggy loved her grandchildren greatly; they called her "Nanny." She was a wonderful cook, spending numerous hours in her vegetable garden and her kitchen and she also loved to spend time working in her flower garden.
Survivors include her loving husband of 33 years, Don Crump of Baldwin; daughter, Tracy Backer of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diana Loudermilk of Cumming; son, Barry Loudermilk of County Cork, Ireland; sister and brother-in-law, Ida Mae and Carl Brown of Cornelia; grandchildren, Kristopher Johnson of Kennesaw, Jacob Loudermilk of Cumming; Madison Fisher of Denver, Colorado, Gabriel Loudermilk of Cumming, and Alexis Loudermilk of Ooltewah, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home.
