A funeral service for Ronald "Ron" Eugene Vandiver, 52, of Clarkesville, was held Sunday Feb. 23, in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, with Dr. Brian James and the Rev. James Turpen officiating. An interment service followed the funeral at the Harvey Cemetery in Tallulah Falls, with the Rev. Greg Rogers officiating. 

Mr. Vandiver passed away Feb. 20, 2020. 

  Born May 24, 1967, in Clayton, he was the son of Linda Taylor Vandiver and the late Ronald Eathel Vandiver. 

Ron was a Christian and attended the Level Grove Baptist Church. In professional life, he was a Senior Technician at Itron. He loved reading, learning and technology. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved camping with his sons. He always enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences with others. He had a brilliant mind that always enjoyed learning. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson. 

  His survivors include his mother, Linda Taylor Vandiver of Tallulah Falls; his wife, Sandra Reed Vandiver of Clarkesville; five sons, Matthew Vandiver (Sophia), James Vandiver (Farrah), Adam Vandiver, David Vandiver, and  Luke Vandiver, all of Clarkesville; his daughter, Lauren Frady (Zack) of Clarkesville; two sisters, Amy Sgro (Sam) of Turnerville,  and Melinda Johnson (Michael) of Clayton; one grandson, Lawson Frady; and a granddaughter on the way. 

  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Ronald's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-1942, or to the March of Dimes Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 18819, Atlanta, GA 31126.
