Funeral services for Royce Ray "Bud" Hamric, 81, of Cornelia, were held Monday, Oct. 28, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Brian James and the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment followed at Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hamric passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019.
Born April 17, 1938, in Atalla, Alabama, he was the son of the late D. Ezra and Lois Jay Hamric. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Mr. Hamric went to Snead College. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church having served as a longtime deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Hamric worked in the telecommunications industry with over 50 years of loyal and dedicated service, having retired from Windstream.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Imogene Hamric; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and David Nelson of Demorest, and Karen and Greg Tench of Cornelia; grandchildren and spouses Ashley and Adam Gurley, Josh and Lacey Tench, and Sammi and Shawn Humphrys; grandchildren, Jessi Tench and Jake Tench; great-grandchildren, Evie Humphrys, Henry Humphrys, Tennyson Gurley and Charlie Tench.
