Born Aug. 4, 1937, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Paul and Flossie Lane Roberts. In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene Roberts Hill and Thomas Hill; and his brother-in-law, Lewis Harper.

He was a member of the Amy's Creek Baptist Church. Ted grew up in the close-knit community of Habersham Mills. With a passion for sports and a love of children, he was instrumental in organizing APY, (Athletic Program for Youth) which later became the Habersham County Recreation Department.

For Ted, his happy place was being in God's outdoor creation. From bow hunting and motorcycle competitions, to scuba diving and spear fishing, his interests and accomplishments were many. However, his greatest joy came from mentoring the younger generation and passing on his skills and experiences to them. Ted's earliest employment was with Reeves Furniture Company. Later he co-founded Bob & Ted's Trophy Shop from which he retired.
