Thomas ‘Tom’ Lowell Tucker

Funeral services for Thomas "Tom" Lowell Tucker, 61, of Blairsville, were held Saturday, Feb. 12, at First Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Pastor Derrick Hartley officiating

Tom passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at his home.

Born May 14, 1960, in Rockledge, Florida, he was a son of Kelvin Tucker and the late Anne Tucker.

He attended North Marion High School in Sparr, Florida; Truett McConnell College; and went to seminary at Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Florida, and had pastored several Baptist churches in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Tom had served as Director of Business Development at Community Newspapers, Inc., since 1995, until present. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. He enjoyed saltwater fishing, traveling, and history, but most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.

Surviving family members include his wife, Lesley Shupe Tucker of Blairsville; children, Emily and Josh Mulkey of Young Harris; and Johnathan Tucker of Lawley, Florida; grandchildren, Claire and Gus Mulkey, and Serenity and John Tucker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Vonda Tucker of Santa Fe, Tennessee, and Robert and Betsy Tucker, of Woodbine; father, Kelvin Tucker, also of Woodbine; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Alan NeSmith, Joe Dyer, Wayne Knuckles, Steve Cockerham, Sam Cockerham, Ron Tucker, Jeff Kaufman and Greg Adams.

Visitation was held Friday evening, Feb.11, at Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville.
