Graveside services for Verbinia Ann "Beannie" Free, 83, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Powell and the Rev. Larry Free officiating.

Ms. Free, affectionately known as Beannie, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 18, 2022 at her residence.

Born Aug. 4, 1939, in the Batesville community of Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late Vance Adrian and Minnie Verbinia Dean Free. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Norris Free, Gerald Free, and Benton Free.

Ann spent many years preparing alterations for The Thread Shed in Cornelia and was the owner/operator of Tux & Stitches Alteration Shop. Although she never had children of her own, she doted on her nieces, nephews, and their families with unconditional love. Ann was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Clarkesville.

Survivors include her brother, the Rev. Larry Free and sister, Peggy Barron, both of Clarkesville, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, July 23.
