In consideration of public safety, private services and interment will be held for Wallace Edward Owens, 83, of Mt. Airy.
Mr. Owens passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.
Born Nov. 15, 1938, in Trion, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Edward A. and Gladys Woods Owens. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens is preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Warren Owens.
Mr. Owens was a United States Air Force veteran and he was retired from Windstream. He was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and was a long-time season ticket holder to their football games. Mr. Owens was a member and former treasurer of Victory Baptist Church and he was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post # 7720.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Franklin Owens of Mt. Airy; daughters, Kami Owens Ferguson (Greg) of Cornelia and Kelley Owens Kelley of Charleston, South Carolina; brothers, Tommy Louis Owens of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Ellis Vaughn Owens (Jane) of North Augusta, South Carolina; four grandchildren; one great grandchild (another great on the way); as well as numerous nieces and extended family.
