A memorial service honoring the life of Warren Lawrence Adams, Sr., 77, of the Hollywood community, Clarkesville, will be held at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated.

Mr. Adams went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

Born Jan. 20, 1945, in Great Falls, Montana, he was a son of the late Henry Lawrence and Floy Hawn Adams.

Warren was a veteran, having served his country proudly for four years in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of The University of Florida where he received an associate degree in criminal justice. Warren was a hardworking man, holding many different jobs over his working career. He was a past wildlife officer, served as an investigator for Florida State Agriculture, and was the owner of Warren Adams Sales for many years where his specialized in western distribution. Warren surrendered his call to the ministry of the Lord and spent years pastoring churches including Oakey Mountain Baptist Church in Clarkesville for over nine years. In his spare time, Warren was a very giving person who was passionate about helping others in need, especially disabled veterans. He spent the last several years helping his late friend, Alex Harris, work with Healing Waters Disabled Veterans Group assisting them with trout fishing at Rivers Edge on The Soque. Warren was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church in Cornelia. He was affectionately known as "Poppy."

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Gale Adams of the Hollywood community, Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Warren Lawrence Beau Adams, Jr. and Elizabeth Adams; grandchildren, Taylor Woodham, Bryce Dakota Adams, William Riley Townsend, Grace Ann Townsend, Abby Faith Adams, and Adam Edward Townsend all of Clermont; sister-in-law, Ruby Medlin of Deland, Florida; niece, Debra Medlin, nephews, Douglas Medlin and Paul Medlin all of Deland, Florida; as well as many other special friends.
