Memorial services for Wayne Bristol, 80, of Sautee, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Chaplain Tim Miller and Dr. Dan Windham will officiate.

Mr. Bristol passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 24, 1939, in Sautee, he was the son of the late Portia Sosebee Bristol and Garland Bristol.

He was a lifelong resident of White County and graduated from Nacoochee High School. Wayne served in the United States Army as a tank driver. He worked at Clarkesville Mill as a weaver and eventually was a business owner of Nacoochee Stables. Wayne was a loving husband and father who enjoyed his horses and working on his farm with his tractor. He was a longtime member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church.

  Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha Lovell Bristol; son, David Wayne Bristol; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Delores Lovell; niece and husband, Renee Lovell and Chad Chambers; great nieces and nephews, Ella, Audry and Grant; as well as his hospice caregiver, Juanita Watts.

  The family will receive friends from noon - 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
