Funeral services for William Andrew "Andy" Johnson, 84, of Cornelia, were held Monday, June 14, in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with his grandson, Kyle Johnson and the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Johnson passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at Habersham Medical Center.
Born Jan. 31, 1937, in Rabun County, he was a son of the late Julius and Sarah Craig Johnson. He lived most of his life in Habersham County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Neville Johnson; and sisters, Edith Smith, Sue Underwood and Essie Lee Osborne.
He loved to hunt, fish, gardening and camping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was the best shot with a flip. He was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Vernie Burns Johnson; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Sheila Johnson of Toccoa, Gary and Tiffany Johnson of Braselton, Jon and Jayden Johnson of Toccoa, and A.J. Johnson of Cornelia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ollie Westmoreland of Westminster, South Carolina, and Pollie Moss of Walhalla, South Carolina.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Noah Johnson, Evan Pledger, Trent Thomason, Denver Armour, Roger Holland and Robert Moss
