A celebration of life for William "Bill" Thomas Hingston Johns II, 88, of Clarkesville, will be held at a later date.

  Mr. Johns passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.

  Born July 17, 1932, in Bayside, New York, he was the son of the late John Johns and Elizabeth Gordon Johns. 

  Bill served his country as a captain in the United States Army and fought proudly in the Korean Conflict as a helicopter pilot. Bill and his family lived overseas for 26 years and retired to Clarkesville.

  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Pavlick Johns; daughter, Samantha Johns Richardson; daughter and son-in-law, Katharine Johns Buck and Braden Buck; daughter, Georgia S. Renner; son, William Trace Johns; as well as grandchildren, Christopher Collins, Stephanie Richardson, Addison Buck, Houston Buck, Alex Malloy and Christine Johns.
