A Celebration of Life for William "Billy" H. Pitts, Jr., 60, of Cornelia, will be held at a later date and will be announced here and on the families' Facebook pages.

Mr. Pitts died Feb. 7, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville of complications from COVID.

Born July 8, 1961, in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William H. Pitts, Sr. (Bill) and Hazel Rebecca Pitts.

He was a very accomplished musician who was loved by all and was considered a rock star by all who knew him and heard him play. Billy had a genuine love of music and played drums in many bands, including The Montgomery Brothers, The Law, The Swinging Richards, and The Georgia Satellites, just to name a few. He was the manager of Auto Cash of Forsyth for 16 years, where he worked very hard to build lasting relationships with his coworkers and customers. He loved dogs, riding motorcycles, and playing music.

He is survived by his wife, Rebekah Kay Pitts; daughters, Kaycie and Jessica Pitts; his sister, Peggy Layne Chatfield; and his two dogs, Lucy and Levi. His presence will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Northeast Georgia Humane Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Baldwin.
