William ‘Duncan’ Holbrook

Memorial services for William "Duncan" Holbrook, 24, of Toccoa, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Dr. Jay Hughes officiating.

Duncan passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022.

Born Oct. 8, 1997, in Atlanta, he was the youngest of a set of quadruplets that included his identical twin brother, fraternal twin brother, and fraternal twin sister. He was a son of Lorie Brigmond Holbrook McGovern of Toccoa and the late Tim Holbrook, Jr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, William Tim Holbrook, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Lonnie Brigmond and Myrtle Dozier Brigmond.

Duncan was employed by Cantrell Mechanical Solutions, Inc. as a mechanical drafter. He was a graduate of Habersham Central High School where he played football and ran track. He attended UNG and Lanier Tech and was active in Troop 5 Clarkesville Boy Scouts. Duncan was detail oriented and had a brilliant mind, especially when it came to drafting, art, computers, world history and military history.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepdad, Allen McGovern of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Timothy Bailey Holbrook (Brandi) of Gainesville and Brigmond Riley Holbrook (Lillie) of Virginia (Langley Air Force Base); sister, Peyton Victoria Holbrook of Alto; paternal grandmother, Beverly Dunagan Holbrook of Alto; nieces, Lorelai and one on the way; aunts and uncles, Lynn and Bob Kerr, Andy Holbrook, and Theresa Woolridge; and several cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
