Be not deceived

To the editor: A lot of us are familiar with this Bible statement, but what does it mean and are we applying this to what we are hearing and seeing? In the past we would use this statement (a picture is worth a thousand words) but with today’s technology we have to be skeptical and question what we see and hear.

The Bible has many benefits, but I believe the two best are a guide to a better life and how to protect that life. Be not deceived is a guard to that life and a warning that what we are told or shown needs to be questioned always.

We were given a lot of help to scrutinize what we see and hear, but a lot of us don’t use this free gift, it is called common sense.

We all know right from wrong, God gave that to us, but He left it up to us to apply it or not and along with that he gave us common sense. A lot of what is told and or seen has a hidden agenda and here are some things that may have a hidden agenda and we must question the true outcome and true reason, here is where we need to apply God’s free gift (common sense). Inflation, now we are told we are using the wrong definition well that is an easy one, are we able to save or buy more with what we earn?

The COVID vaccination will protect you.

We need to help people that come across our (border) illegally. We need to help Ukraine protect their border and give them guns and money even if they are known as one of the most corrupt nations.

Electric cars are the answer to global warming. A little help with this one, in the 1960s, we were told leaded gas was the problem. In the 1970s, it was the EGR valves. In the 1980s, it was refrigerate R12. In the 1990s, computer controlled engines were the answer and after all of these made little or no difference. We are now going to once and for all fix it with wind and sun, good luck with that one. Start today using God’s free gifts and warning – common sense and be not deceived.
