Beware what comes

To the editor:

After the last election, I had perversely assumed things were going to get better. I guess they are, but not nearly quickly enough! I failed to realize, that “After Trump” it was going to take a herculean effort to bring things back to normalcy!

Even now, as I drive around Georgia, I still see blatant, putrid signs of Trump posted in many yards. Bring out the sanitation department, please! Even after this last emphasis on COVID-19 recovery, there are still many Georgians refusing to get vaccinations, and refusing to wear protective masks. Yes, we seem to be going back to the Civil War days again. Wasn’t losing the first time enough for these rotting patriots? And the “Trumpublicans” just never seem to go away!

Look, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan, a political gangster, still thrive with many other infidel right-wing politicians. Maybe they should be called “wrong-wing” politicians! Even the great metropolis of Atlanta is growing dramatically in robberies, murders, and senseless activities. Oh, Lord, spare us these agonies! Let our old world come back again. Protect us from human vanities! Please!

Rev. Warnock’s Easter tweet

To the editor:

On Easter Sunday, our new senator, “Rev.” Raphael Warnock, sent out a message through Twitter concerning the significance of Easter. He wrote, “The meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether you are a Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves.”

This is an extremely concerning statement coming from the mind of a so-called “Reverend.” In fact, I would argue “Rev.” Raphael Warnock has no idea what the Gospel is and how it is that one can be saved.

Warnock’s tweet claims that he has discovered a more transcendent meaning to Easter, more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the sole reason for Easter; had Christ not risen from the grave, there would be no such thing as Christianity, much less Easter. God’s Word establishes the resurrection of Christ as the basis for the Christian’s faith, and people for over 2,000 years have recognized and celebrated Christ’s victory over death. However, Warnock, contradicting God’s Word and 2,000 years of church history, claims he is the one that has found the “true” meaning of Easter.

Furthermore, Warnock’s tweet claims that if we are committed to helping others, we can save ourselves. The absurdity is astounding! God’s Word clearly tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

All humanity is under the penalty of death, yet God sent His perfect son, Jesus Christ, to die on our behalf, raise Him from the dead, and by believing in Him we will not perish but have everlasting life. Nowhere in Scripture do we find that we can save ourselves, as Warnock claims. It is by Christ alone we are saved: “[God] made us alive together with Christ…For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:5,8).

Warnock has exchanged the Gospel for secular humanism. He is not a Christian; he’s a false teacher, and it’s time we refer to him properly – Heretic Raphael Warnock.
