Habersham Central (2-2) football topped region foe Loganville (2-2) 28-13 at Red Devil Stadium tonight.
Habersham Central's offense struck first on its first play, with senior quarterback Paris Wilbanks launching a pass to senior wide receiver Jay Feltus. They failed the extra two-point conversion to go up 6-0 with 7:30 left in the first quarter.
The Red Devil offense came right back on the next drive, with Lamario Dorsey hitting wide receiver Brian Clegg on a busted coverage to take a 7-6 lead.
Wilbanks rushed from Loganville’s 16-yard line to go up 15-7 with under seven minutes left in the second quarter.
Early in the third quarter running back Kenley Bee ran it in for an 8-yard touchdown but the extra point was blocked for a 21-7 lead.
Loganville scored its last touchdown when running back Matthew Baze ran it in and brought it to 21-13.
Wilbanks scored his third touchdown by connecting with Tay Spencer in the fourth quarter.
A CJ Davis sack forced a punt with 2:48 left for the Raiders to drain the clock.
Habersham Central plays Jackson County at Raider Stadium on Friday, Sept 25.
