Authorities are still unsure what caused the death of a 26-year-old Baldwin man found dead on Saturday.
Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies and Baldwin Police responded to a medical call at 453 Highland Pointe Drive in Alto. The call was dispatched as an unresponsive person.
Upon the arrival of the responders, a 26-year-old male – later identified as Delver D. Dryden – was found deceased in the residence.
A large police presence attracted the attention of neighbors and caused speculation as to what killed Dryden.
A highly-redacted police report with almost no narrative indicated that officers investigating believed the incident was drug-related. The box next to “marijuana” was checked on the report.
Baldwin Police Chief Chris Jones said the case was still under investigation and that no additional information was available.
Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire said the autopsy had not yet been completed as of Thursday.
