American Values dinner set for March 3

The Northeast Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America will host its annual American Values Dinner on Thursday, March 3, at the Commons Dining Hall on the campus of Piedmont University. Each year this dinner recognizes three outstanding community leaders with the Distinguished Citizen Award. This year’s honorees are Alan NeSmith, Steve Paysen, and Stewart Swanson.

The volunteer chairs for this event are Brent Cody, John Herrin, and Rick Phillips. Serving on the volunteer Host Committee are Brian Akin, Eddy Ariail, Tim Ash, David Austin, John Borrow, Skip Brown, Hilda Burke, Cody Cobb, John Dickerson, David Foster, Dr. Josh Garrett, Burt   Holmes, Keith Hulsey, Matthew Osborne, Dr. Larry Peevy, Terry Rogers, Jason Scott, Philip Smith, William Tucker, Dr. Jim Wade, Drew Watson, Dr. Rhett Weaver, and Jim Weidner.

This year’s guest speaker will be Gary Black. Gary is the State Commissioner of Agriculture.
