Rehab facility helps those lost in addiction

Nathan Dodd, a former football player and student at Habersham Central High School, said he began to develop the affliction of substance abuse and addiction at 14. By age 17, he said, criminal charges resulting from substance abuse and delinquent activity had already started to compile on his record.

More of that type of behavior, which Dodd believes was likely rooted in his tendency to abuse drugs and alcohol, would go on to draw continued attention of local law enforcement and cases against Dodd in the criminal justice system for several years. But last year, with Dodd’s window for recovery and the prospect of returning to a life of promise and purpose narrowing, he said he’d been given one more chance.
