Revival coming

There will be a revival at Amy’s Creek Baptist Church in Clarkesville from April 2-6. Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Milton Harris will be preaching. Service time is 7 p.m. each night. Everyone is welcome.

Live in the Alley

Fenders Alley located in Cornelia’s downtown entertainment district hosts live community concerts weekly. Live in the Alley will feature Rusted Melody at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 7. Free admission. For more information call 706-776-2181.

Easter egg hunt

Mud Creek Baptist Church will host an Easter Egg hunt from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, for 5th grade children and under. The church is located at 3048 Mud Creek Road in Cornelia.

Sunrise Easter services

Clarkesville Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on the church front lawn with meditations and Flowering of the Cross. At the 10:30 a.m. worship service, a  “Lord’s Supper Drama” will be presented. Come worship or watch the service on Facebook or Youtube.

An Easter sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 9, at the flagpole across the road from Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church. Rev Kenneth Franklin will give the sermon, Rev. James Turpen Sr. will lead prayers and Bobby Hardwick will be the song leader. Rain location is inside the church.

Daytime revival set

There will be a three-day revival at Old Nacoochee Baptist Church (487 Hub Tatum Road) at 11 a.m. from April 10-12. Randy Blair will be preaching. All are welcome.

Democrats meeting

Habersham Democratic Party will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Cornelia Library, 301 N. Main St., Cornelia. Guest speakers include Ginger England with Citizens Climate Education (CCE) and Amber Barrett, Navigator and Career Service Specialist with Goodwill. Visitors are welcome to attend the free program.

Garden Club meeting

The Soque Garden Club will meet Friday, April 14, at the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center, 283 Highway 255. Refreshments are at 9:30 a.m. with a program at 10 a.m.

Veterans & Patriots meeting

The Northeast Georgia Brotherhood of Veterans & Patriots will meet on Saturday, April 15. A complimentary breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Cornelia First Baptist Church. Breakfast is sponsored by Bill Chandler in honor of local veterans. Nathan LaShoto, pastor of Cornelia First Baptist Church, will be the speaker. Nathan will give a brief history of the Merchant Marine and those who served.

Church singing

There will be a singing at Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 16. “Johnson Edition” will perform.

VFW Auxiliary indoor yard sale

The Grant-Reeves VFW Post 7720 Auxiliary will have its 2nd Annual Inside Yard Sale on April 22 located at 174 Cornelia Crossing Shopping Center off US 441 close to Ingles. The VFW Auxiliary will be renting 8-foot tables for $15 for the day. We have a few 6-foot tables for $10. To rent one, call Melanie Albea at 912-230-8998 ASAP to reserve a table. A Charity will come to pick up any of your unwanted items you brought to sell. There is a cantina that will have things to eat, and drink, so you don’t have to leave the bldg. The VFW Auxiliary asks that everyone commit to stay until 3 p.m. Set-up opens at 7 a.m. with selling beginning at 9 a.m. All proceeds will go to the VFW “Vet Relief Fund” to help the Post to better be able to help Vets in crisis.

LionFest returns

Piedmont University’s 2nd annual LionFest, an afternoon with live music, arts and crafts, and food and drink vendors will take place Saturday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arrendale Amphitheater on the Demorest campus.

Women’s Bible study

The Women’s Bible Study at Clarkesville Baptist Church will meet on Mondays through April 24 at 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center. The study will be Priscilla Shirer’s book

The Habersham County Library Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 24, at the Cornelia Library located at 301 N Main Street, Cornelia.

Charity clay shoot

The United Way Sporting Clays Shoot will return from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at 1700 Blacksnake Road in Mt. Airy. Cost is $200 per individual or $600 per team of four. Must be 18 or older and provide your own shells to participate. Team pre-registration is Friday, April 21. Walk-up registrations are possible. Car show for HCLC

A car show benefiting Habersham Christian Learning Center will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday May 6 at Level Grove Baptist Church. Sign up all the cars and trucks that you would like to show off because all makes and models are welcome. Parking will start at 9 a.m. and pre-registration is open on HCLC’s website www.habershamclc.org. Chicken plates are also available for pre-order to be picked up the day of the event. Limited Cornelia UMC food pantry shopping

The free food pantry at Cornelia United Methodist Church will be open the first three Thursdays each month. Time is 1-2:30 p.m. One shopper per household per month.

Parkinson’s support group

The Northeast Georgia Parkinson’s Support Group is designed to help Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers. The group meets at 6 p.m. the last Monday of each month at “The Station,” 1725 Highway 441 Bypass in Cornelia at Level Grove Baptist. For details, call David McLendon at 706-455-6485.
