Foothills Photography Group Meeting

Car show to celebrate Georgia Cities Week

Mt. Airy will host a car show and cruise-in on Saturday, April 30, to celebrate Georgia Cities Week at 1231 Dicks Hill Parkway. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks, along with music and arts and crafts booths. Anniversary of Shady Grove church

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Choir is celebrating its 24th anniversary on Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary, located at 226 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Cornelia. Featuring soloist and choir groups from various churches, The public is invited to attend.

Habersham Library Spring Fundraiser

The Friends of the Clarkesville Library will be holding a silent auction of art from northeast Georgia. It will begin on Monday, May 2, and run through 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, the day of the Mountain Laurel Festival. All of the art will be on display in the Clarkesville-Habersham Library, 178 East Green Street, and the bidding forms will be located on a table near the entrance. The Friends are also happy to welcome Jan Walker, well-known local artist and author, who will be holding a book-signing and painting demonstration at the library, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 21. Chicken sale for Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 5 will hold a chicken sale, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the parking lot of Clarkesville First United Methodist Church next to Walgreens. Items include boneless breast filets ($40), breaded tenders ($15), breaded filets ($15), roasted wings ($35); spicy breaded filets ($15) and sliced breast strips ($15).
