DUI deputies honored

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers of Georgia held its annual Golden Shield Honors awards ceremony Wednesday and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office was honored for their efforts in reducing impaired driving incidents on our roadways. For the second year in a row, the Sheriff’s Office received the Agency DUI Hero, the Agency of the Year, the HEAT Unit of the Year (Sgt. Kris Hall and Deputy Brandon Holcomb), and the prestigious Golden Achievement Award. Individually, Hall and Holcomb received the Officer DUI Heros award. Last year, Holcomb made 150 DUI arrests and Hall made 168. Deputy Chase Trammell also was honored for bronze level DUI arrests with 28.
