A tractor-trailer driven by Richard Wayne Childress, 59, of Bristol, Tenn., overturned on its side at the intersection of Duncan Bridge Road and Highway 365 on Wednesday morning. The truck was traveling southbound when the brakes failed to slow it down and the driver had to make an evasive maneuver from the right southbound lane to the right turning lane on 365. The truck turned onto Duncan Bridge but was moving too fast, causing it strike a guardrail and end up on its side. Childress was cited for driving too fast for the conditions, and his injuries were non-life threatening.
