School Bus Graveyard hit with vandalism

By Hannah Caudell and Landen Todd Habersham’s famous School Bus Graveyard is the newest victim of vandalism after previous attempts in and around the town of Alto.
The first $277,778 collected each month will go toward paying the debt service on the bonds for the new jail. Remaining SPLOST funds will be divided between the county and cities each month.

By Samantha Sinclair With all the plans and intergovernmental agreements in from the cities, Habersham County’s Board of Commissioners formally approved placing the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, VIII referendum on the November ballot.

Building the village

By Hannah Caudell Near Clarkesville, Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Georgia is building what Tiffany Kinnarath calls a village. “It’s really feeling like a village,” said Kinnarath, whose family is the first of what will be many families to move onto the property in the northern Habersham area.
