Edith Carmen Dahinden-Talley

Edith Carmen Dahinden-Talley, 78, passed away peacefully in Gainesville, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.  

  She was born July 4, 1942, in the Republic of Panama to Anton and Maria Josephina Dahinden.

  Edith lived a vibrant life and traveled far and wide from Central America, to Europe and throughout the United States, with her family spread out as well. Edith was a great conversationalist and found her calling later in life working in both Habersham and Hall county, with the Migrant Education Unit. After her retirement, she and her husband, Russell Wayne Talley (formerly of Highlands, North Carolina) moved back to Panama taking her parents, where she cared for them until their passing, as well as the passing of her husband, Russell.

Edith is survived by her sister, Rosmarie Schöni of Switzerland; her brother, Antonio Alois Dahinden of Republic of Panama; her brother, Antonio Dahinden of Cornelia; her daughter and husband, Wanda and Dorsey Munson of Elko, Nevada; her son and his wife, John and  Michelle Vest of Glendora, California; her step-son and his wife, Darrell and Tammara Talley of Franklin, North Carolina; grandchildren, Terry Munson, Angela Munson, Louis Vest and William Vest; and, great-granddaughter Keina Munson.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank her long-time friends Joyce and Mike Tench in Cornelia, for their friendship and continued support during Edith's life and travels.

Edith will be interned with her husband and parents in Parroquia Santuario Nacional del Corazón de María (National Shrine Parish of the Heart of Mary), Panama City, Republic of Panama.
