Funeral services for Paul Pullum, 88, of Oak Grove Rd. in the Metasville Community, were held Saturday, Jan. 23, at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Rayner and the Rev. Larry Martin officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

  Mr. Pullum entered into rest Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at his home.

  Born Jan. 6, 1933, in Defuniak Springs, Florida, he was the son of the late Allen Thomas Pullum and Stella Dell Turbeville Pullum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Paul Pullum; brothers, Elize, Elbert, Thomas, Jimmy, and their wives; nephew, Little Tommy; and granddaughter, Stephanie Jean Marie Pullum.

He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 16 and served as a Medic from 1950-1953. He fought in the Korean Conflict and received a Purple Heart. While serving in the Army, he met his wife, Katherine Anderson. He met her in San Miguel, California, and was 19 at the time. They were married for 68 years. After being discharged in California, they moved to Florida, then to Georgia, where they lived for 38 years-twenty of those years in Washington.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Anderson Pullum; two sons, Ken Pullum (Willene) of Harlem, and Richard Pullum of Metasville; one daughter, Mary Ann Sullivan (Jim) of Cornelia; several grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
