Funeral services for Katie Danielle Richins, 19, of Cornelia, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Duane Richins, Jonathan Harris and Bishop Clay Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens

Miss Richins went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, following injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Aug. 21, 2000, in Demorest, Katie was a life-long native of Habersham County. She was the daughter of Jennifer Harris of Cornelia, Troy Richins of Roosevelt,  Utah, and Brannon Kimbrell of Clarkesville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dale Harris; and maternal great-grandfather, Sherman Patrum.

She was generous, compassionate, and kind, with no malice or angry. Katie would meet people and instantly make new friends, regardless if you thought you needed a friend. She was a hard worker and responsible. If someone was sick, she would instinctively become the caretaker. Katie loved music, concerts, people and especially dogs. She was a huge fan of Harry Potter and gravitated to a world where the impossible was possible. Katie loved to give hugs since she was a little girl and there was never a limit on how many given. She worked at Wendy's in Clarkesville and was currently employed with Fred's Discount Store and Lowe's Home Improvement Store of Cornelia.

Survivors include her mother, Jennifer Harris of Cornelia; father, Troy Richins of Roosevelt, Utah; father, Brannon Kimbrell of Clarkesville; sister, Carlie Harris of Cornelia; maternal grandparents, Martha and Hardy Stuckey of Cornelia; paternal grandparents, Diane Richins, Ken and Ruby Richins, all of Roosevelt, Utah, and Carol and Ralph Kimbrell of Cornelia; maternal great-grandmother, Anna Patrum of Cornelia; boyfriend, Noah Bourne of Toccoa; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
