Per his request no public services will be held for Philip T. Raymond Jr., 95, of Macon formerly of Cornelia. 

Mr. Raymond passed away at Friendship Healthcare Jan. 3, 2021, from complications of Covid.

  Born March 12, 1925, in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Phil and Valta M. Raymond Sr. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Jean Raymond, who passed away in November, son-in-law, Val Foster; as well as five siblings.

  He was a graduate of Auburn University and was an electrical engineer, later district manager with Georgia Power Company until his retirement. Mr. Raymond was a Master Mason and he was of the Episcopal faith. 

  Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Philip T. Raymond III and Susan of Macon; daughter, Peggy R. Foster of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Susan R. Thompson and Alex of Savannah; eight grandchildren, Casey Barron, Corey Barron, Jill Parker, Jeff Thompson, Holly Kolkmeyer, Christie Pool, Ally Raymond, Vincent Raymond, Lynn Smith and Mark Thompson; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Dr. James Hamilton and all the staff of Friendship Health Care for their love and care given to both parents over the last six months.
