A Celebration of Life for Randolph "Randy" Lee Franklin, 54, of Towns County, was held Saturday, February 19, at Sam Pitts Park in Clarkesville.

Mr. Franklin was called home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

Born Dec. 3, 1967, in Habersham County, Randy was preceded in death by his dad, Arnold Lee Franklin of Mount Airy and his grandparents, Fred and Susie Hamilton of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville and Lawrence and Flora May Franklin of Mount Airy.

He worked at Upper Hightower Creek Vineyards in Towns County where he was the foreman over the vineyards.

Randy loved playing with all of his family and they loved playing with him. He was just a big kid at heart with them. All of his family loved him and Randy loved all of his family. He never met a stranger and was willing to try to lighten the moods of all of those he met. He loved family gatherings and loved to eat good food. You always knew when he was there and he will truly, truly, truly be missed by his family, friends, and his dog, Smoky. Randy loved gardening, especially his flower garden.

Randy is survived by his mother, Lessie Hamilton Franklin of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville; beloved sons, Cody and wife Kayla of Cleveland and Dalton of Towns County; stepdaughters, Katie Morgan and Nicole Normandia of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; sister, Dawn and husband, Junior Spivey of Hayesville, North Carolina; brother, Steve and his wife, Lisa Franklin of Seneca, South Carolina; sister, Lisa and husband, Danny Frye and brother, Shane and his wife, Teresa Franklin all of the Turnerville Community, Clarkesville; brother, Shawn Franklin of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville; seven nieces, seven nephews, and a large extended family who loved him very much.

From Randy to all of his beloved family, great and small: I love you all so very much. And now that I am gone, you may grieve for me, but not for long. A day or so will do. Then remember all of the good times we shared and all the love we shared for each other. Cremate my remains when you can and when it is time, when the grief has subsided, and when it is easier for all of my precious family to do. Remember, I love each of you and this is a journey we will all have to make, so please be ready.

Remember my song, "Lead Me Home," by Jamie Johnson. Play it when you scatter my ashes and play it sometimes when you want to think of me.

I love you all so very much.

Your son, brother, and dad, Randy.
