To the editor: For over 50 years, I have been an American born and raised in the greatest nation on the face of the earth. I’ve never seen a crisis of any kind she couldn’t overcome. But in recent years, I have seen changes taking place that are slowing destroying and taking away her power.
In the eyes of man, we are still the most powerful nation on earth. I personally ask this question. Where do we stand in the eyes of God? Lately, we have been robbed of our Ten Commandments in our public service buildings, and even more recently, rulings have been made that it’s no longer constitutional for our children to use God’s name in the pledge to our flag in school.
Fellow Americans and all Christians, let me remind you, problems really began for our children when we allowed one atheist to remove prayer from our schools. Let me say I’m proud to be a Christian American. I’m also shocked and appalled at the behavior of any who would be a party to these types of actions.
I was very troubled as I lay in my bed Monday night, July 1, 2002. I could not sleep. God spoke to my heard and said, “It’s time to get up and write. Tell My people all over America that America is what she is today not by her own power or might but because of the covenant I made with her forefathers in a time when man truly sought My face. And I gave her independence and great power.” I’m reminded of the prophet Hosea in chapter 4, verse 6, where God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. And because you have forgotten Me, I will also forget your children.”
Fellow Americans, we are playing a dangerous game. Let us not stand by any longer and allow any more of our God given constitutional rights be violated by any further atheist actions from anyone.
One day, a man was traveling through the mountains of beautiful northeast Georgia about dark when he saw a beautiful cross which illuminated the mountain top and could be seen for miles and miles. Because it was located on national park property, he felt like it violated his constitutional rights to look upon it. He was able to get it removed and taken down. Well, that old cross had been there since I was a young man and was a symbol to everyone who saw it of our heritage in a God that we trust with our lives.
Friends, enough is enough. All Americans and Christians alike have the same right to have all of these God given treasures restored to our community. Anyone who does not want to hear God’s name in the pledge to our flag or to see our Ten Commandments on the walls in our public service buildings or does not want to see “In God WE Trust” on our money, well, I don’t mean to sound smart, but my God loves them all. In my opinion, they need to find them a country that does not believe in God and leave. For God is here to stay. Friends, He’s the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. I don’t care who knows it, I’m proud to be a Christian American.
