To the editor:
I want to respond to a person who has lived here upon retirement for six years. He is complaining about grocery prices. It is the first time that he has lived in a town with only one grocery store.
He refers to an empty store a few blocks away that has been empty the whole time he has been here. Well, most everyone around the county knows why you will see the same thing in Cornelia.
Baldwin, which is the second-most populated city in Habersham County, doesn’t have a grocery store. Mt. Airy, Demorest and Alto do not, either.
So he wonders why only one store is permitted in Clarkesville. My guess is no one else has applied for a permit. Maybe you ought to get into the grocery business and for all the price increases, I believe you can remember your beloved president and he can explain to you why.
But I don’t know if you can afford gas to drive to Toccoa, Cornelia, Clayton, Cleveland or Gainesville.
So getting back to the president, I wonder how many people wish they had never heard the name Biden. I don’t think our country or the American people can stand three more years of this person. He is a complete failure. He doesn’t have a clue or the competence to be president, much less a real leader. He is the laughing stock of the world and he deserves it. He completely messes up everything and I don’t want to make a list of it all. The American people know how badly he has done.
I’m not a real smart person and I am not a real stupid person. But I have enough sense to know you can’t go from fossil fuel to clean energy overnight. It will take years to make the change without hurting everybody.
Most people probably don’t know how many products are made from crude oil. You can’t just shut it off. I could go on and on about the things I don’t like about Biden or his stupid policies, but right now we are stuck with him. I think, Fritz, you ought to call or write your president and savior and see if he can help you out a little bit. I doubt that he could help you. The only people he cares about are the ultra-liberal socialist Democrats. He could care less about the American people. The people he calls “they,” has anyone figured out who they are?
I am not pleased with anything about him and his cronies. Maybe some of them will go down in defeat this fall.
