Do right by God

To the editor: The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

I am a Christian. I believe that God’s will is in the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not kill and thou shalt not bare false witness are two of them, and it is my thought that the political parties seem to be abusing these two commandments to the utmost.

When you kill reputations with unfounded rumors and destroy a person’s life, that is not in God’s teachings.

When you tell half-truths and innuendos, you go against God. You can also do damage that can live forever.

We are trying to control guns with new laws that will take the Second Amendment of the Constitution out of play. Let’s go back in history to 1920 Germany, The National Socialist Party worked a gun control regulation through their system where all guns had to be registered. This was done in the name of public safety. The law-abiding complied, but the party did not.

In 1933, the NSP took control of the government of Germany and implemented a “clean the regime” program. To do this, they used gun registration to identify and remove undesirables from society, even to the extent of execution. In 1938, this was in full swing with the arrest and removal of all Jews and other persons who were deemed to be a bad influence in one of the largest takings of life we have witnessed.

When we let one group get control of all the facets of our lives, who makes our laws? Who enforces our laws? Who we work for, where we go for medical attention, how we interact with other people, what we think and how we live. We give up the right to live and become subject to the our lives either being terminated or confined in a controlled area. This is why the freedoms were put in the Constitution. If you do away with one freedom, we are no longer a democratic republic, just a failed society.

I would like all the people in the United States to look back in history and not make the same mistakes that put millions of people to death. Don’t take the political party at face value – look at all sides and think for yourself. Do what God would want you to do. Love one another and do good. But be watchful and don’t fall for what the devil puts out that will result in damage to freedom and liberty. Don’t be lead down the road to Hell.
