Early voting ends today at 7 p.m. Anyone who hasn’t voted by the end of day has only one day left — Election Day on Tuesday.
As we approach the end of early voting, we are getting closer and closer to beating the turnout from 2020.
Then, an outstanding 72.59 percent of registered voters in Habersham County cast ballots, or, in different terms 20,516 people exercised their right to vote.
As of noon Thursday, we were at 56.5 percent turnout, or 17,200 people voting.
It’s great to see this many people voting and wanting to vote so early.
It’s also neat to see that voting has picked up in the last few days. Our highest daily turnout was Monday, Oct. 28 with 1,718 people voting. The highest daily turnout prior was the first day of early voting at 1,496 people voting.
But, like we said, the main event is coming up on Tuesday.
In 2020, over 3,000 people in Habersham County voted on Election Day.
We heard it from the candidates on both sides, and you’ve heard it from us — this election is important, and it’s important for your vote to be counted.
If there are candidates or matters you are undecided on, read up on them and not on the propaganda machines that social media has become.
To help, we are making all stories we’ve had relating to the election free to read on our website.
