It’s up to you and I

To the editor:

We are fortunate to have some elected leaders in our area that for the most part have common sense and exercise good judgment. My opinion is that most of them are just “Down to Earth” people, like we are.

The same cannot be said for America’s Leadership nationally. Our U.S. Senate and House Representatives for the most part are more interested in peddling influence and being reelected than they are in representing our Conservative values.

Huge amounts of money are being spent nationwide to promote a Liberal mindset that is eroding the very foundation of our country. I really hoped Washington leadership would wake up one day and come to their senses.

It is apparent however, that current national leaders are using the “Divide and Conquer” strategy to push forward what can only be described as a Socialist agenda. I have heard it called the “New World Order” in the media – maybe you have too. History says Divide and Conquer was a strategy used by the Romans as early as 100 BC to create disruption and discontent in the lands they sought to Romanize or bring under Imperial control. While the small territorial groups and tribes were distracted as they struggled against each other to protect their own territories and beliefs, the Romans took over the entire Region and installed leaders who would support the Roman mindset. Doesn’t that sound familiar?

You and I are more alike than we are different. Most of us want a meaningful life, a life that probably includes the ability to worship at the Church of our choice, a loving Family, a committed loving Spouse, and a good Job that challenges us with opportunity to grow and prosper. Most of us are willing to let others live their own Lives, and in return expect that others will allow us to live our own Life. I know a variety of people – I bet you do too.

Some think like me, some do not. It does not make either of us wrong.
