Change the future

To the editor:

I know one party is not supporting action on climate change as they still need the campaign funds they get from big oil. But all we need to hear is the weather of flooding in Vermont, or the unsafe air reaching from the fires in Canada all the way to North Carolina with New York air so unhealthy you can’t see the sun and were told to stay inside and wear a mask outside.

A climate scientist, Bill Nye, said the weather will continue to get hotter in the summer and saw Greenland had the warmest weather in 1,000 years. We have the solutions to change our future and acting now is cheaper than later.

Solar, wind farms, wave (ocean) action, geothermal, and buying energy efficient appliances and the big help is buying an EV car which can be charged mostly at home when not traveling. You can also leave the A/C on while shopping to come back to a cool car or heated in the winter and it is safe to leave on.

Economy has gone downhill

To the editor:

Thank you, Debra Mastrilli, for the most intelligent letter we have had recently. Don’t we love to be called Trumpublicans?

All your remarks about Biden are right on. I know he ruined our great economy and country his first day in office with his promised executive orders. A recent writer said that “Obama and Biden walked into the White House to a complete mess. This should destroy the myth that economies do better under Republicans. They actually destroy them,” Are you kidding?

Do you mean you are better off now than you were in 2017-2020? He also speaks of Trump’s crimes. You mean having boxes of documents in a locked closet with Secret Service all around? And another person brings up the crimes of Trump’s documents. You know Biden had documents scattered all over Pennsylvania, Delaware, Chinatown and even in his unlocked garage. I’m assuming you only have CNN on your TV, so let me tell you what some crimes are.

Our vice president in the mid decade spent much time and taxpayer money flying Hunter to many countries collecting millions of dollars in our plane, yes Air Force 2 is ours, bought with taxpayer money.

In a recently-found message, Hunter is telling his Chinese contact that he and his father sitting beside him are tired of waiting for their money. Many are trying to decide if Hunter is taking advantage of the big guy or if Joe is using Hunter. After all, how many 53-year-old men have to give their father 50 percent of their money as Hunter has complained about?

As a 92 ½ year old woman, I cannot believe we have such corruption in our government. And tell me how Obama has gone from a wealth of a few million to 70-plus million.

I hope that Congress will decide to use the 25th Amendment to rid our country of this embarrassing canker in our government, who has cognitive and physical ailments that will only get worse. But that brings up the impossible Kamala, who is only good at giggling.

I don’t think Biden will be able to run again, but to all who voted for him in 2020, it would be wise to carefully compare today’s economy with Trump’s. We have high gas prices, groceries and interest rates all across the country.

God bless all you good people who want to keep our country “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Political logic

To the editor:

This morning, allow me to choose;

To disrupt my morning snooze;

With meshing the cogs of my brain;

To solve a political dilemma, a bane;

Disturbing smart souls everywhere;

So, permit me to logically take a dare.

And try to resolve this political fright

While Letting our citizens rest at night!

One worrisome party, adjusting our laws;

Radically changed, with hems and haws;

Two unrelated rules that make no sense,

Blocking abortions and letting the offense

Of mass gun killings grow, run amuck;

To where our Congress continues to duck.

Two simple logics, that insult our law,

Nefarious concepts, immoral, evil and raw!

One bans abortion, a woman’s right

To correct herself from all sorts of fright,

From rape, physical and medical outrage;

And inflicting illness, death on life’s page,

Creating newborn souls, each and every day;

As birth rates soar, increasing in every way!

Population expands, exponentially grows,

New births increase targets wherever one goes!

Yes, targets, I say, more for those villains;

More men, women, adults and crying chillin;

The (You Know Who) politicians who freely favor;

The “concealed carry,” “no-check,” laws they savor,

Allowing military assault rifles in every hand,

Shooting citizens randomly across our land,

Maiming and killing all those they please;

“Cause anti-abortion has made targets increase!
